Day 13 Pittsburgh to Connellsville PA. 62 miles

A great day of biking! It took alittle bit of time to find my way out of Pittsburgh, but then it was great. I was able to ride all the way after that on bike paths. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to bike this area. I was told further down the path is even more pretty, so I am looking forward to the next couple of days.
I got to ride with some nice people. The first I have named Pittsburgh Pete. We were riding close together when the path stopped and he said "my ride's over." I was still supposed to have about 35 miles left. I told him I was from out of town and asked if he could tell me how to get back on the main trail. He said "follow me and I'll show you". If you remember my first ride, you'll know I said o.k.  We chatted for about 6 miles and I learned he always rode 30 miles on Saturday. How nice for him to go that extra 12 miles for me. I think I would have had a hard time getting through that town alone.
A few miles later as I entered the wooded area, I asked a gentleman I was passing if there were any bears in the area. He said yes, but not very many. That made me feel better. Marvin was riding with his wife and she kept going and we chatted quite awhile. I learned all about his family and his biker friends from Texas as well as sites to see along the trail. By the way, Marvin and LouAnn were 85!

Fun to ride a trail! Much of what I have been on is the Allegheny Passage Trail. It is possible to take this all the way to Washington D.C. Looking forward to it again tomorrow.
