It turned out to be a rather long day. It was hilly. One of the first went on for almost 2 miles. Luckily, it wasn't very steep. One of the hardest challenges today was the lack of road signs. One guy I asked for help pulled out his phone and said " what would we do without these?" That was to be a very significant question later in the day.
Shortly after the halfway mark, I had my first flat of the trip. My sag came to my rescue and off I went again. Thanks to the share the road signs, drivers were a little more courteous today. They don't really like to move over around here.
I rode part of the way into Pittsburgh on a bike trail. It was a relaxing way to end the day. There seem to be a lot of interesting places to see here. I rode past the Carnegie Science Museum, a casino, the Pirates stadium, and the Steelers stadium for just a few.
For the end of my ride, I rode across the Andy Warhol bridge to where I was to meet Larry. That brought to mind a song from my younger days - I'm leaning on the lamppost at the corner of the street....
That is Larry's story to tell. I just say thank you to the man who loaned me his phone.
